We are seeking an OT COMMS Specialist with extensive expertise in Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, Ciena, and Juniper networking equipment. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining WAN networks for power utility transmission and distribution. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network architecture, SCADA communication systems, and security implementation to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and resilience of power grid operations. Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in OT communications within power utilities or large enterprises, with a strong understanding of network infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in WAN network setup using Fibre, DWDM, SDH/PDH, MPLS-TP technologies to enhance communication efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and managing Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, Ciena, and Juniper networking equipment.
  • Deep knowledge of SCADA and OT communication systems in the energy sector, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency.
  • Experience designing and implementing MPLS-TP network solutions and migrating SDH/PDH networks to modern infrastructures.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, risk assessment, and network security to proactively mitigate potential threats.
  • Prior experience in the utility or telecommunications sectors is preferred, with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize network architectures for SCADA and OT communication systems, ensuring high reliability and security.
  • Lead the migration of SDH/PDH networks to MPLS-TP, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure while maintaining industry standards.
  • Monitor, analyze, and enhance network performance, identifying and resolving issues such as latency, bandwidth limitations, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with SCADA engineers, OT specialists, and IT professionals to create a robust communication ecosystem within the power grid infrastructure.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, design modifications, performance metrics, and incident reports for compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies, proactively identifying potential threats, cybersecurity risks, and system vulnerabilities.
  • Provide training and mentorship to internal teams, fostering a strong knowledge-sharing culture around SCADA and OT communication networks best practices.
