Delivery Centric is seeking a highly experienced API Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade APIs that support business-critical applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving API-first development strategies within microservices architectures, leveraging modern cloud platforms and API management tools. This position requires both deep technical proficiency and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, reusable, and secure RESTful APIs.
  • Lead API development from concept to deployment, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
  • Apply industry best practices in API security, versioning, throttling, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, and DevOps teams to integrate APIs into broader solutions.
  • Utilize API gateways and management tools for publishing, monitoring, and securing APIs.
  • Conduct API testing, debugging, and documentation using tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Ensure compliance with cloud security and governance policies in API deployments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in API development and integration.
  • Strong proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and understanding of API design principles.
  • Experience working with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Deep understanding of API security standards (OAuth2.0, JWT, mTLS) and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, HTTP protocols, and API testing tools.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
