We are looking for an experienced Application Packaging Engineer (L3) to manage and optimize application packaging, deployment, and troubleshooting within enterprise environments. This role requires deep expertise in MSI, Intune Win32 apps, SCCM, PowerShell scripting, and application virtualization. As an L3 engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless application delivery, acting as an escalation point for complex issues, and enhancing deployment efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Packaging & Deployment:
- Package, test, and deploy applications using MSI, Intune Win (Win32), App-V, and PowerShell.
- Work with Microsoft Intune and SCCM for efficient application delivery.
- Convert legacy SCCM applications for cloud-based Intune deployment.
- Develop and optimize silent installation scripts using PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Act as an L3 escalation point for complex deployment issues.
- Diagnose installation failures, resolve dependency issues, and address application conflicts.
- Use log analysis tools (ProcMon, Event Viewer, SCCM Logs, Intune Logs) for troubleshooting.
- Process Optimization & Documentation:
- Maintain detailed documentation for packaging and deployment processes.
- Improve application packaging efficiency and reduce failure rates.
- Collaborate with EUC, security, and infrastructure teams for compatibility and compliance.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure application packaging meets security standards and best practices.
- Implement certificate signing, security policies, and privilege escalation where needed.
- Validate compliance with enterprise endpoint management policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in application packaging & deployment.
- Expertise in MSI packaging tools (Admin Studio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune (Win32 Apps, LOB Apps, MS Store integration).
- Hands-on experience with SCCM (Application Deployment, Collections, Baselines).
- Advanced PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch scripting skills.
- Experience troubleshooting deployments using ProcMon, Event Viewer, and log analysis tools.
- Knowledge of Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), and Windows Registry settings.
