Delivery Centric is seeking an experienced Azure SQL DBA Architect with active NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance to lead enterprise-grade database modernization and cloud migration initiatives. This role drives end-to-end SQL Server migration, Azure architecture design, HA/DR configuration, performance engineering, and security governance across complex environments. You will work closely with internal teams, customer stakeholders, and project managers to define migration strategies, enhance resilience, optimise performance, and deliver scalable Azure-based data platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Assess customer SQL Server landscapes and define migration strategies aligned to Azure best practices.
- Configure SQL Server HA/DR (FCI, AG) across multi-region, multi-subnet, and availability set architectures.
- Administer Azure security, policies, resource governance, and Key Vault integrations.
- Lead SQL Server migrations using DMA, DMS, Data Studio, log shipping, and backup/restore methods.
- Collaborate with internal and customer stakeholders to understand requirements and present solutions.
- Drive Azure solutioning activities for large-scale and complex migration programs.
- Design storage, plan capacity management, and build logical and physical database models.
- Install and configure SQL Server versions spanning 200x to 2022.
- Troubleshoot advanced Windows and SQL Server performance, availability, and configuration issues.
- Implement and manage reliable, high-performing database systems in Azure environments.
- Execute on-prem and cloud SQL Server upgrades to modern versions.
- Develop T-SQL and PowerShell automation for administration and performance tuning.
- Adhere to client compliance, governance, and quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server database architecture, migration, and Azure ecosystem deployment.
- Deep expertise in HA/DR configuration, performance optimisation, and enterprise-grade SQL Server administration.
- Proficiency in migration tooling: DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, log shipping, and other methods.
- Experience designing and operating high-performance database systems in Azure.
- Strong T-SQL and PowerShell scripting capabilities.
- Good understanding of database performance tuning tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work directly with customers, prepare solution documentation, and present migration plans.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- NV1 / NV2 Security Clearance (mandatory).
