Delivery Centric is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong systems administration background and proven expertise in database management, performance optimization, and data migration initiatives. This role focuses on ensuring the availability, security, and performance of enterprise Oracle database environments while supporting cloud transformation and migration programs. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant database solutions within secure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases across production and non-production environments.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning activities.
  • Support end-to-end data migration initiatives, including planning, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) coordination.
  • Ensure database availability, reliability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes are implemented and regularly tested.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, incidents, and operational challenges.
  • Implement and maintain database security standards, user access controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support system integrations, deployments, and releases.
  • Participate in capacity planning and contribute to database architecture enhancements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, operational procedures, and support processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Oracle Database versions 11g, 12c, 19c, or later.
  • Strong experience with database migration projects, particularly migrations from Exadata Cloud@Customer to Oracle Database on Azure (ADB, DBCS).
  • In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery solutions using RMAN, high availability technologies such as Data Guard, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience working within Linux/Unix environments.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Exposure to systems administration or infrastructure support is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively within secure environments governed by strict compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1, NV2, or Positive Vetting).
  • Experience working within secure or regulated environments is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
  • Cloud platform experience, including OCI, AWS, or Azure-based Oracle deployments.
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting technologies such as Shell, Python, or Ansible.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines within database environments.
